An optically non-linear active waveguiding material comprising an optically transparent polymer and an optically non-linear active dopant comprising a donor-. pi. -acceptor unit, characterised in that the optically non-linear active dopant is a donor and acceptor groups-containing triphenylcarbinol. 2.
