System and method for processing and analyzing telephone calls in a telephone exchange

DETAILED DESCRIPTION In one aspect, the present invention provides a system for processing telephone calls comprising at least one telephone exchange.
According to this aspect of the present invention, the telephone exchange comprises a general analysis program including a plurality of high-level analysis primitives, an analysis control data including a plurality of control-level analysis modules, and a call control data including a plurality of call records, one for each telephone call processed by the exchange.
In a further aspect, the present invention provides a telephone exchange in a telecommunications network serving a plurality of subscribers.
The exchange comprises a general analysis program for performing a plurality of analyses on a set of subscriber data and an analysis control data for controlling the analyses of the subscriber data set.
The general analysis program comprises a plurality of high-level analysis primitives of different types while the analysis control data comprises a plurality of control-level analysis modules corresponding to the types of analysis primitives.
The exchange further comprises means for executing each of the analyses by executing a first one of the analysis modules using a corresponding one of the analysis primitives, and then executing other ones of the analysis modules using corresponding ones of the analysis primitives, with at least some of the other analysis modules to be executed being determined from the execution of preceding analysis modules.
