In accordance with the present invention, a method for providing a consumer with a plurality offers to be used to purchase goods is provided. The method comprises the steps of: providing a database containing a plurality of available offers with the offers being arranged in groups and the offers in each of the groups being arranged in ranked tiers; connecting a consumer activated dispenser to the database; selecting a plurality of offers from the database for presentation to the consumer each time the consumer activates the dispenser; and the selecting step comprising examining each group in the database for available offers starting with a highest priority tier in said group and proceeding to a lowest priority tier. |

DETAILED DESCRIPTION Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved method for providing consumers with shopping offers and purchase incentives. It is a further object of the present invention to provide a method as above which issues a printed document or offer sheet containing a collection of promotional incentives which consumers use to redeem promotional offers at checkout. It is yet a further object of the present invention to provide a method as above which collects profiles on individual purchasers and provides retailers and manufacturers with the ability to target consumers based on individual purchase behavior. The foregoing objects are attained by the method for dispensing offers to consumers of the present invention. In accordance with the present invention, a method for providing a consumer with a plurality of offers to be used to purchase goods is provided. The method comprises the steps of: providing a database containing a plurality of available offers with the offers being arranged in groups and the offers in each of the groups being arranged in ranked tiers; connecting a consumer activated dispenser to the database; selecting a plurality of offers from the database for presentation to the consumer each time the consumer activates the dispenser; and the selecting step comprising examining each group in the database for available offers starting with a highest priority tier in said group and proceeding to a lowest priority tier.
