DETAILED DESCRIPTION What is claimed is: 1. An alkylol group containing phenolic polymer of Formula I: ##STR11## wherein: a. R. sup. 1 is ##STR12## hydrogen or a radical of Formula II: ##STR13## b. the R. sup. 2 's are independently selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl, phenyl, benzyl, halo, nitro and hydrogen, c. The R. sup. 3 's are independently selected from the group consisting of ##STR14## hydrogen or a radical of Formula II, wherein at least one of the R. sup. 3 's is alkylol, p1 d. the R. sup. 4 's are independently selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl, hydrogen, phenyl, benzyl, or furyl, e. m is an integer from 2 to 10 inclusive, f. the phenolic polymer has a molecular weight between 200 and 2000. 2. The phenolic polymer of claim 1 wherein R. sup. 2 is hydrogen. 3. The phenolic polymer of claim 1 wherein R. sup. 4 is hydrogen. 4. A methylol group containing phenolic polymer of claim 1 of Formula III: ##STR15## wherein: a. R. sup. 1 is HOCH. sub. 2 --, hydrogen, or a radical of Formula IV: ##STR16## b. the R. sup. 3 's are independently selected from the group consisting of HOCH. sub. 2 --, hydrogen, or a radical or Formula IV, wherein at least one of the R. sup. 3 's is methylol, c. m is an integer from 2 to 10 inclusive, d. the phenolic polymer has a molecular weight between 200 and 2000. 5. A methylol group containing phenolic polymer of Claim 1 of Formula III: ##STR17## wherein: a. R. sup. 1 is HOCH. sub. 2 --, hydrogen or a radical of Formula IV: ##STR18## b. the R. sup. 3 's are independently selected from the group consisting of HOCH. sub. 2 --, hydrogen or a radical of Formula IV, with the proviso that at least on R. sup. 3 is HOCH. sub. 2 --, c. m is an integer from 3 to 6 inclusive, d. the phenolic polymer has a molecular weight between 300 and 1500, e. the ratio of radicals of Formula IV to o-cresol units is 1:1. 5 to 1. 5:1. 6. A composition of matter comprising: A. an alkylol group containing phenolic polymer of claim 1 of Formula I: ##STR19## wherein: a. R. sup. 1 is ##STR20## hydrogen, or a radical of Formula II: ##STR21## b
