Compounds having the formula ##STR1## in which R is phenyl, phenylthio, phenoxy, or lower alkylthio; R.sub.1 is lower alkoxy; R.sub.2 is lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; R.sub.3 is lower alkyl; and X is sulfur or oxygen. The compounds have utility as insecticides and miticides. The compounds can be prepared through novel intermediates having the formula ##STR2## BY A NOVEL PROCESS OF REACTING A METHYL KETONE OXIME WITH A HALOACETYL CHLORIDE IN THE ABSENCE OF AN ACID ACCEPTOR. |

DETAILED DESCRIPTION What is claimed is: 1. A compound having the formula ##STR10## in which R is phenyl, phenylthio, phenoxy or lower alkylthio; R. sub. 1 is lower alkoxy; R. sub. 2 is lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; R. sub. 3 is lower alkyl and X is sulfur or oxygen, provided that when R is isopropylthio, R. sub. 3 is a lower alkyl group containing from 1 to 3 carbon atoms. 2. A compound according to claim 1 in which X is oxygen. 3. A compound according to claim 1 in which X is sulfur. 4. A compound according to claim 1 in which R is lower alkylthio and R. sub. 2 is lower alkyl. 5. A compound according to claim 4 in which Y is sulfur. 6. A compound according to claim 1 in which R is lower alkylthio and R. sub. 2 is lower alkoxy. 7. A compound according to claim 6 in which X is sulfur. 8. A compound according to claim 1 in which R is phenyl, R. sub. 1 is ethoxy; R. sub. 2 is ethoxy; R. sub. 3 is methyl and X is sulfur. 9. A compound according to claim 1 in which R is phenyl, R. sub. 1 is ethoxy, R. sub. 2 is ethyl, R. sub. 3 is ethyl and X is sulfur. 10. A compound according to claim 1 in which R is phenyl, R. sub. 1 is methoxy, R. sub. 2 is methoxy, R. sub. 3 is methyl and X is sulfur. 11. A compound according to claim 1 in which R is methylthio, R. sub. 1 is ethoxy, R. sub. 2 is ethoxy, R. sub. 3 is methyl and X is sulfur. 12. A compound according to claim 1 in which R is methylthio, R. sub. 1 is ethoxy, R. sub. 2 is ethyl, R. sub. 3 is methyl and X is sulfur. 13. A compound according to claim 1 in which R is methylthio, R. sub. 1 is methoxy, R. sub. 2 is methoxy, R. sub. 3 is methyl and X is sulfur. 14. A compound according to claim 1 in which R is phenylthio, R. sub. 1 is ethoxy, R. sub. 2 is ethoxy, R. sub. 3 is methyl and X is sulfur. 15. A compound according to claim 1 in which R is isopropylthio, R. sub. 1 is ethoxy, R. sub. 2 is ethoxy, R. sub. 3 is methyl and X is sulfur. 16.
