This purpose is sought through the provision of a programming structure which is particularly efficient.
A further purpose of this invention is to enable interaction with a network such as the world wide web, in a consumer or PDA system of the types described, through the cooperation of a microcontroller executing programs, including application programs, stored in memory of the system supported.
The programs, in accordance with this invention, have a particular structure in which each program has at least two layered statements, with the statements being of particular types and having particular characteristics as described more fully hereinafter.
The program structure particularly facilitates a user interface which makes navigation through the display selection process easier for a user.
