2-(2'-Hydroxyphenyl)benzotriazoles of formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are as defined in claim 1, and which contain at least one --SO.sub.3 X group in the molecule, are suitable light stabilizing additives for aqueous ink compositions, especially for ink jet printing. Some of these compounds are novel compounds.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION What is claimed is: 1.
A method of stabilizing an ink jet print against the deleterious effects of light which comprises preparing an aqueous solution containing at least 30% by weight of water and (i) an effective coloring amount of a water soluble dye, and (ii) 0.
