Apparatus with frame check capability for reproducing images by combining outputs of concurrently operating disk players storing portions of the images

DETAILED DESCRIPTION It is, therefore, an object of the invention to provide an image reproducing apparatus which can prevent the display of a disordered image due to mismatching of the contents of output signals from a plurality of disk players in the parallel operations of the players.
An apparatus reproducing an image by concurrent operations of a plurality of disk players according to the invention includes: frame designating means for generating frame designation signals indicative of frames to be reproduced and a plurality of disk players for searching the frames designated by the frame designation signals and for reading out and generating signals of the designated frames.
A synthesizing circuit is used to synthesize video format signals which are supplied and relaying circuits are employed for adjusting time bases of output signals of the disk players and for relaying them to the synthesizing circuit.
Each of the disk players generates a present frame number which indicates the frame presently being read.
The frame designating means compares the present frame number from at least one of the disk players to the frame which is designated by the frame designation signal and supplies a disable signal to one of the relaying circuits corresponding to the disk player when they coincide with each other.
A repeating circuit stops a repeating operation of the output signal in response to the disable signal.
In the image reproducing apparatus for concurrent operations of a plurality of disk players according to the invention, the designation frame number indicating the frame to be reproduced is provided to a plurality of players.
When the frame number which is presently being reproduced by each player does not coincide with the designation frame number, the supply of the output signal from the player of the frame number which does not coincide to the signal synthesizing circuit is blocked.
