To achieve the objects and in accordance with the purposes of the invention, as embodied and broadly described herein, the digital audio/video system includes a signal reception unit receiving signals; a processing unit processing the received signals and/or reading signals stored in a storage media; a transport demux processing the signals to standardize each received signal, to selectively decode the signals desired by a user, and to output a video stream and audio stream separately; a decoding unit decoding the video stream and the audio stream from the transport demux; an image display unit receiving and processing the signal processed by the decoding unit to display the signal according to a function requested by the user; an audio unit playing sound; a control signal application unit executing the function desired by the user; and a control unit detecting the control signals from the control signal application unit to overall control each of the units.
